Andrew “Andj” Stainer — Guitar. Andj began playing classical guitar as a 6-years-old, but as he grew, the lure of rock and roll proved to be too strong to avoid. During the 1980s, he formed the group, Wax Poetic with Treading Lemmings bandmate Christopher Quinn. The group morphed into a female-fronted prog-rock band later to be known as Arc of Ones. The group had the pleasure of opening for bands such as Living Colour and The Godfathers. They recorded a CD with rock mainstay John Palumbo of Crack the Sky. The CD received airplay on college radio before the group broke up in the early 1990s. Before reuniting with The Treading Lemmings, Andj played in the classical guitar duo Guitars of Romance, with his Peabody Conservatory prep-trained wife, Maria Stainer.
